The Discovery of Smartphone

    In the modern world like today, people have discovered many things about technology, Smartphone is the famous invention that shocked the world. With smartphone we can do literally anything we want to. But, people nowadays couldn't use it wisely, much people are attached to their Smartphone, whether it is related to something important or just for fun., Smartphone took our time, up to 6 hours per day, can you imagine that? It's barely a quarter of our time in a day. 

    Smartphone was discovered by American multinational technology company named IBM, it was released in the  year 1994. The first smartphone was named Simon, and it's not like nowadays slim-compact-ish smartphone, it was big bulky phone with touchscreen panel. IBM Simon was ahead of it's time

    IBM Simon uses MOSFET technology, MOSFET is metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor, technology that enabling smaller intergrated circuit chips and the proliferation of wireless mobile networks. Simon can send and receive faxes, e-mails and cellular pages to any computer or mobile phones, not just that but, this smartphone also featured with calculator, world time clock, electronic notepad, handwritten annotations, and standard stylus input screen keyboards. We still couldn't type words with our fingers but it needed stylus to type, the keyboard layout is not in QWERTY layout like nowadays smartphone has, it still uses classic mobile phone keyboard layout, like if you want to type some letter you have to press the button more than one time, that's a waste of time if compared to today.

    Last but not least IBM Simon, the first smartphone only has 1MB of RAM from Sony and Hitachi, and 1MB Storage upgradeable to 2MB from Intel and Hitachi. The price, you wouldn't expect, it was US $899 with a service contract when it was first released, if compared to todays currency it priced as high as Apple iPhones smartphone. It's around US $1,435. IBM doesn't sell this type of smartphone anymore, but if you wanted to buy this phone just for collection, not much people left in the world has this phone, so the prices still unknown, because the technology and materials used in this smartphone are rare and incomparable to todays smartphone.
